Oregon Lavender Festival
Today I’m off to enter two paintings into the Oregon Lavender Festival art show. The Oregon Lavender Association sponsors a paint-off art show, opening may Oregon fields to artists for plein air painting for two weeks. The pieces will be judged and then viewable during the festival. After the festival the art will move to one of two galleries for a two week period.
The festival is July 10-11, 2010. The main location is in Yamhill, Oregon, but many lavender farms around the state will have crafts, u-cuts and various activities for the weekend.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I do well. This is my first entry into an art show. The first painting “Lavender and Roses for Luck” is an 18×24 acrylic on canvas of the Blue Heron Herbary on Sauvie Island, OR. The second “Lavender Valley” is a 5×7 watercolor of the Lavender Valley Farm in Hood River, OR. If the paintings don’t sell they will be available on Etsy. If the do sell, reproductions will be available.
UPDATE: My paintings will be displayed at the Cusick Picture Frame in Newburg, Oregon in August starting on the 6th. Opening reception is Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.
