P(ointer), R(hodesian Ridgeback) and S(oft Coated Wheaten Terrier)’s
I’ve had a busy week working on more dog illustrations for my Cafepress shop: The Pointer, the Rhodesian Ridgeback and the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. They are also available through CKC Embroidery and Dog Mom Dog Designs.
- The Pointer is a hard-driving hunting dog that possesses stamina and courage. This intelligent breed gives the impression of power, grace and noble carriage. His coat can be liver, lemon, black and orange, either solid or with white.
- The Rhodesian Ridgeback is originally a native of South Africa. They were bred by the Boer farmers to fill the need for a serviceable hunting dog. The large and muscular Rhodesian Ridgeback were not only developed as hunters, but as family protectors. The “ridge” or hair that grows backward up their spine is their unique trademark.
- The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is a medium sized terrier that is prized for its soft, silky coat. While they are a happy and self-confident dog, they are a formidable, and leave no doubt to his terrier origins. Known for more than 200 years in Ireland, they were known as the poor man’s dog.
